"Sir, we have now collected the data you ordered on this strange planet."
"Report on what you have found."
"I have brought the director of the scientific study with me. He will give you a clearer and more comprehensive explanation."
"Go ahead."
“We have confirmed the existence of highly evolved life on its surface. We don't know if it is intelligent, but our experts advise against attempting direct contact. Complex structures have been detected that extend across large areas of the emerged portion. They appear to be a highly colonizing species that transforms everything they conquer into the aforementioned structures at the expense of the rest of the planet's living beings, even if it jeopardizes the survival of their own species. Their life strategy is very strange, but it develops rapidly and they are ruthless in expanding into the places they inhabit. It also follows that they emit large injections of gases that are not in equilibrium with the atmosphere, causing the planet's global temperature to rise at a rate that could become dangerous for other life forms. I don't know, but they must have some unknown mechanism for survival, even if they wipe out any competing life forms. Either that, or they're incredibly stupid and condemning themselves to extinction. Looking at the rising temperatures, let me use an analogy: it seems like an infection causing the planet to show symptoms of illness, as if it had a fever.”
"Do you think they could be dangerous?"
"It's hard to say, but I have a feeling that if they manage to leave the planet, they'll do the same to any environment they come across."
"Fine, destroy the planet."
